WELCOME TO EYFS
 We have lots of fun in EYFS through a topic based approach.  There are two classes, our teachers this year are Mrs. Allison, Mrs Hollier and Miss Vaghela. If you need to contact your child's class teacher for any reason please email - eyfs@staffordleys.com.


PE Days - please ensure your child brings their PE kit into school Monday to Friday.  Our PE days are Monday and Tuesday but we may do other additional sessions.  Please can you make sure, if your child wears earrings, that they are taken out on PE days.  Thanks.

Reading

This week you will have received a letter via email, providing you with the details to sign up for reading books online.  Books will be assigned once a week.  Please sign up as soon as possible so we can continue your childs reading journey.

introduction to Phonics in eyfs

We have started teaching phonics in EYFS.  Below is a video of our Introduction to Phonics for Parents.

Dance of the day

Dance 3 - This dance is to Don't Blame it on the Boogie by Big Fun.  We have incorporated the up and down, side to side and arch movements.  If you ask your child they will be able to teach you our dance.  Whilst doing this dance, we do not use the video - just the music.

​DANCE 2
- This dance is to Pump Up the Jam by Technotronic.  We have incorporated the up and down movements along with some side to side ones.  The children have also enjoyed using pens to make marks with whilst listening to the same song.
DANCE 1 -  It involves simple up and down movements using the children's arms.  The dance is helping to build the up their gross body movements (large body movements), in preparation for writing with a pen or pencil.  Take a look at the video below.  We are doing a dance to The Vengaboys track - Up and Down.
